31 Jul I Hate Worms…
I hate worms. I hate the way they squirm. I hate the slime they ooze. They are some ugly creatures. I dodge them on the sidewalk after a big rain like a running back faking out a linebacker on the gridiron.
But something happened this morning that took away my displeasure of worms for a moment. As I was walking from the parking lot into my office, I saw a robin pluck a worm out of the ground and quickly devour it. When I saw it, I immediately knew why God had given me this quick object lesson. He was telling me to “look at the birds”.
Matthew 6:26-27 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
26 “Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or gather the harvest into barns. Yet, your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?
27 “Can any of you add a single hour to your life by worrying?
God was reminding me that He is the source of my provision and that I shouldn’t worry about how He will take care of me. Maybe you’re like me today and you have a need in your life. Whatever it is, know that God will provide. Stay encouraged and don’t worry. Seek the Lord in the midst of your trouble. He is faithful. Even the birds know they’ll find what they’re looking for.
Victorious in Christ,
